About Us

Who We Are

AfriNovels is a literary platform bringing the depth and richness of African fiction to readers around the world — through expert summaries, thoughtful analysis, and cultural context.

African literature is not a regional curiosity — it is a cornerstone of world culture.

We exist to ensure that every reader — wherever they are — can access, understand, and appreciate the stories that have shaped a continent.

Our Story

AfriNovels was founded in 2022 by a literature enthusiast, researcher, and storyteller who noticed a gap: African novels, some of the most compelling, original, and culturally rich works of fiction ever written remained inaccessible to millions of potential readers.

The barriers were not only geographic or economic. Many readers simply didn’t know where to begin, or lacked the cultural context to fully appreciate what they were reading. AfriNovels was built to change that.

We don’t just summarize books. We open doors to worlds that deserve to be entered.

Today, AfriNovels hosts summaries, analyses, author profiles, and thematic essays covering works from across the continent — from Chinua Achebe’s post-colonial Nigeria to Nnedi Okofor’s Afrofuturist landscapes, from Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie’s feminist explorations to Ngugi wa Thiong’o’s linguistic politics.
